Hi, my name’s Wren and I’m the Assessment and Review Officer for New Concept Care and Nursing; I have worked here since 2019.
After specialising in my Master’s degree thesis in 20th Century diagnostic/prognostic models of psychopathy and its contemporary assimilation with controversial conversion therapies; and also teaching as a Postgraduate Student Lecturer, I knew I wanted to further my learning and experience by working within the healthcare sector. Following this, I spent five years working with adults with Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, eventually focusing on care planning, risk assessments, and community rehabilitation and integration.
When I joined NCCN, I received excellent training to be able to fulfil my role and responsibilities as an Assessment Officer and since then, I have built my confidence and knowledge with the support of my colleagues and team. My additional roles within the company are the Moving & Handling and Medication Assessor and Trainer – which are one of my favourite aspects of my job – including additional Falls Prevention training and a Level 1 in British Sign Language. I am proud to work for a company which also actively supports and advocates inclusivity and diversity within the workplace and community.
