My name is Jen, and I am the HR Officer at New Concept Care and Nursing.
My journey with NCCN began in 2004 when I joined the organisation as a part-time care worker. During my early years with the company, I completed my Level 3 qualification in Adult Health and Social Care and progressed into the role of Care Coordinator. This gave me the opportunity to manage and coordinate care teams while helping to ensure that our services ran smoothly and consistently.
In 2017, I made the difficult decision to step away from my role to focus on raising my young family. I was delighted to return to NCCN in 2022, initially taking on responsibilities across recruitment, advertising, digital media and social responsibility.
Since returning, I have continued to develop both personally and professionally. After successfully completing my CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, I progressed into my current role as HR Officer.
I now lead the HR department and work closely with our Senior Management Team to support our employees throughout their journey with NCCN. My role includes overseeing recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, workforce development, staff engagement, policy development and the continued improvement of our people practices. I am passionate about creating a positive and supportive working environment in which employees feel valued, listened to and able to develop.
Alongside my HR responsibilities, I continue to oversee NCCN’s marketing activities, helping to ensure that our communications reflect who we are as an organisation and the important work carried out by our teams.
I also remain closely involved in NCCN’s social responsibility and community initiatives. Giving back to the communities we serve is incredibly important to us, whether through organising events, supporting fundraising campaigns, volunteering or creating opportunities for our employees and the people we support to become involved.
Having experienced several different roles within NCCN, I understand both the rewards and the challenges of working in care. I am proud to use that experience to support our employees and help attract and retain compassionate people who share our values of Trust, Respect, Excellence and Kindness.
I look forward to continuing my journey with NCCN and contributing to the development of our people, our services and the communities we are proud to support.
